Making Sense of it all

Introduction

I have spent much of my life trying to make sense of one thing or another. Perhaps you have too!

All you have to do is watch any news channel for a few minutes with an unbiased view, you will see right away how little sense any of it makes.

There is so much talk about justice, equality, democracy and most importantly about freedom,  Yet none of what is going on around us is anything but just or fair.

This  in itself doesn’t make sense, as  over the years, decades and centuries we learnt so much yet done so little to make our lives better..

We have had many instructional manuals on how to live a good and prosperous life, such as the Torah, the Bible, the Quran and not to mention various Isms, like Buddhism, Hinduism, communism, socialism and capitalism to mention a few.  Yet despite all these, the majority of people don’t have a good life and are continuously seeking prosperity and fighting poverty.

It is time for a new guide rather than an instructional manual.  A guide built on current facts, knowledge and experience;  not just, on faith.

Perhaps that is the secret to success.

Using a guide requires; making choices.  Which means thinking for yourself and taking responsibility for your actions.

Making choices depends on your needs which change from time to time.

If Life is a game than  making choices are the moves you make in order to win.

Any one can play any game, the question is how to play to win.

In order to make the moves or play the game  to win,  we need to:

  1. Learn about the environment(board)

  2. The rules of the game

  3. The players, including you

  4. Most importantly, the prize.  What are you playing for?

  5. You need to understand what is changing ( other peoples’ moves or the roll of the dice

Any one can go through life, the question is how to have a good life
